Rajendra Pawar is an experienced Ocularist and Specialty Contact Lens Practitioner with more than 18 years of experience in a highly specialised area of eye care.
His professional journey has focused on helping patients who require solutions beyond conventional contact lenses and routine eye care. His work encompasses custom artificial eyes, ocular prosthetics and specialty contact lenses for a range of complex ocular and eye-socket conditions.

Creating an artificial eye is a highly individual process. The shape, colour, proportions and appearance need to be considered carefully for each patient.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Pawar has created more than 6,000 customised artificial eyes for patients from India and other countries. This extensive experience has given him the opportunity to work with a wide range of individual requirements and complex eye-socket conditions.
His interest extends beyond conventional ocular prosthetics to the development of advanced ocular and facial prostheses and solutions for people with low vision.
The Specialist's Work
When Conventional Solutions Are Not Enough
Some patients require more than a conventional contact lens. Conditions such as keratoconus, irregular cornea, dry eye and other ocular-surface or eye-socket conditions can require specialised assessment and customised solutions.
Dr. Pawar’s experience includes scleral lenses, Rose K lenses, Boston Ocular Surface Prosthesis and Orthokeratology, alongside his work in ocular prosthetics.
His approach is centred on understanding the individual requirement and selecting or developing an appropriate solution rather than treating every patient in the same way.
International Training & Recognition
Dr. Pawar received specialised training in custom artificial eyes and ocular prosthetics in Boston, USA, under renowned ocularists Kurt Jahrling, Joyce Jahrling and Eric Jahrling.
He has also received advanced training in specialty contact lenses, including Boston Ocular Surface Prosthesis, Rose K and Orthokeratology.
He is a founding member of the Ocularist Society of India and has been recognised by the Scleral Lens Education Society, USA.
